Polypropylene
Download PDF
Polypropylene is a semi-crystalline, thermoplastic engineering material with high toughness and good chemical resistance.
Key Features:
Tough
Very low water absorption
Resistant to dilute acids, cleaning agents, numerous solvents
Very good electrical insulation
Difficult to bond
Easily welded
Low density
Becomes brittle at low temperatures
Temperature Range:
-40ºC to +80ºC, +100ºC
Applications:
Chemical apparatus, water treatment components, seals, insulators, ventilation ducts, pallets, drip pans, crash doors and wall cladding
Polypropylene also offers good thermal and electrical insulation and is also resistant to many acid, alkalis and organic solvents making it an ideal choice for fabrication jobs in chemical and effluent treatment plants.
Availability:
Polypropylene Copolymer PPC
Offers slightly increased elongation at break compared with Homopolymer.
