PTFE Rod - Blue Food Quality

PTFE rod - blue food quality has excellent resistance to most chemicals and solvents and is capable of operating at high and low temperatures. It also has a very low coefficient of friction and is commonly used in food contact applications. PTFE provides good thermal stability and has good electrical properties, but is difficult to bond.

Applications

Slide bearings, insulators, washers and roller.

Key Features

• Temperature: -200°C up to +260°C.
• Provides excellent sliding properties.
• Chemically inert (with the exception of elemental alkali metals, chlorine trifluoride and elemental fluorine at high temperatures and pressures).
• Insoluble in all solvents up to temperatures as high as +300°C (572°F).
• Excellent dielectric strength.
• Highly resistant to corrosion and hydrolysis.
• Good machinability.
• FDA and EU 1935/2004 approved.

Standards

• FDA approved US regulation. Code of federal regulation 21 CFR Ch.1; section 177.1550 perfluorocarbon resins of the Food and Drug Administration/US.
• EU 1935/2004 - 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles to come in contact with food.
• Offers a class UL94 V-0 flammability rating, meaning the polymer will self-extinguish after removal of flame.
