PVC Foam Sheet (Foamex)

 

PVC foam sheet, commonly referred to as Foamex, is a durable, lightweight material that is used in the printing and design industry to create high quality advertising boards, signage and scale models. Manufactured from a blend of polyvinyl chloride and polyurea, Foamex board has a flat, non-porous surface that is highly suitable for digital flatbed printing. The material allows for good ink adhesion and can be easily worked with conventional cutting tools, paints and prints.

Foamex PVC board is also highly resistant to moisture absorption and will not warp or shrink when exposed to external environments. It exhibits excellent insulation properties, good rigidity and performs well when in contact with certain chemicals. PVC foam sheet is not, however, recommended for use in applications involving impact and can become brittle when exposed to temperatures below -10°C.

PALIGHT® Foamed PVC Sheet

PALIGHT® is available in a variety of colours in both a matt or gloss finish. It offers improved density compared to our standard PALFOAM™ grade and provides a slightly better surface for digital flatbed printing. Standards**

• Offers a Class 1 fire classification in accordance with complies with BS 476/7 regarding fire tests on building materials.
• Has a class B, s1-3, d0 in accordance with BS EN 13501 for construction products, including products incorporated within building elements.
• Provides a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating, meaning the polymer will self-extinguish after removal of flame.
• Has an M1 and M2 classification in accordance with French standard NSP 92501,5 for building materials.
