Ceramic & Glass Fibre Products
PAR supply ceramic and glass fabric insulation material converted into the following forms.
Temperature:
| Ceramic fibre: |
Up to +1260ºC |
| Glass fibre: |
Up to +550ºC |
Ceramic fibre woven fabrics are manufactured from high performance ceramic fibres which are spun and combined with the relevant reinforcing media to improve the tensile strength at higher temperatures.
Glass fibre is manufactured from air textured filament glass yarns and provides a high volume of entrapped air giving good thermal insulation.
Key Features:
- Resistant to oils and solvents.
- Excellent thermal insulation.
- Lightweight.
- Resistant to oils and solvents.
- Good chemical stability.
- Non-combustible.
- Resistant to thermal shock.
- Excellent corrosion resistance.
- Not affected by bacterial growth.
Ceramic fibre offers the following benefits over glass fibre:
- Higher temperature rating.
- Lower thermal conductivity.
- Greater resistance to steam.
These products are not suitable for contact with phosphoric or hydrofluoric acid and strong alkalis.
Note: With ceramic insulation products the organic content will burn off at temperatures above 200°C without affecting the properties of the ceramic fibre. However, adequate ventilation should be provided during this initial heating.
