Felt - Woolen, Blended & Synthetic
Felt is a diverse engineering material, which can be as soft as Lamb's wool or as hard as wood. As a result felt has a quite diverse range of uses. From wool we can supply pressed engineering felt and from synthetic fibres we supply technical needle felt. Needle felt is particularly popular for the supply of filter bags.
Processed Parts
Specific parts can be manufactured to customer requirements. The picture shows felt used for anti-vibration, sound absorption, dust seals, oil seals and gasket parts. All can be supplied with self adhesive backing if required. We can provide customers with a range of felt kiss-cut parts to specific shapes and strips for ease of application in high speed production.
Applications:
- Wicking for the transmission of fluids, inks and oils etc.
- Various types of felt bobs in use in the polishing trades for all types of metal and glass.
- Various sizes of grease and oil seals.
- Drum beater heads.
- Wipers specifically designed for precious and semiprecious metals, stainless steel, galvanised steel and tin plate.
- Filter pads for large and small compressors.

We have available all standard types and densities of woollen and synthetic felt, along with an increasing range of special felts that can be supplied in whole or part roll form.
Felt Strips

The range of sizes felt can be cut into is infinite. Strips are supplied in all types of felt, in different densities and colours. Its uses vary from anti-vibration pads to wiping steel strip, simulating mortar in brick presentation panels and lubrication pads for turning parts in light and heavy machinery etc. We are happy to advise material suitability at all times. |
Felt Bobs & Bob Kits
Felt bobs can be supplied in any shape or size with or without spindles. There are three standard hardness - Soft, Medium and Hard. We have recently introduced two bob kits, a dentistry kit for small part polishing, and an assorted kit for larger areas which includes interchangeable cone shaped heads, along with a suitable spindle.
