Water Jet Cutting
Water jet cutting is ideal for many applications where a superior finish is required.
Advantages over more conventional cutting methods include: - No excessive burr, over stressing or thermal damage
- A clean precise cut, free of heat-affected zones.
- No tooling charge
- Accuracy can be maintained to +/- 0.2mm.
The process involves a hair thin jet of pressurised water mixed with a fine abrasive. The jet moves at twice the speed of sound to produce a clean cut on many materials up to 90mm thick. The water jet nozzle is CNC guided.
Water Jet Cutting has proven itself with a wide range of materials including rubber, sponge, plastic, metals, including titanium and wood.
