Nylon 6 Sheet

Nylon 6 Sheet

Nylon 6 sheet is a common engineering plastic that offers high tensile strength, stiffness and good mechanical properties. It provides moderate resistance to chemicals, is electrically insulating and performs well when exposed to heat for prolonged periods. Nylon 6 is used in a broad range of engineering applications due to its general versatility and ease of machining.

At PAR Group, we have been supplying nylon 6 sheet for over 20 years and offer a selection of grades to suit specific industrial requirements. We can supply a range of nylon 6, which includes standard engineering grades for use in general purpose machining applications, cast oil filled grades that offer reduced co-efficient of friction and improved resistance to wear, and cast moly filled grades that provide higher load bearing properties.

In comparison to extruded grades, cast nylon 6 sheet is easier to machine and generally offers improved strength, a higher operating temperature and lower moisture absorption. Extruded alternatives are also available from PAR, and are commonly supplied when tighter tolerances or a thinner sheet thickness is required.

We also offer extruded metal detectable nylon 6 that is primarily used in food and pharmaceutical processing operations and flame retardant grades, in accordance with UL94 V-0, that are commonly machined into components such as cable holders, clamps and channels for use in the aviation and rail industries.

Many grades of nylon 6 sheet are available to buy online at PAR Direct, please follow the links below for more information on each individual grade or click the 'buy online' button above. We also supply cast nylon 6 rod, cast nylon 6 tube and bespoke cast nylon shapes.

Available Grades of Cast Nylon 6

Nylon 6 Sheet - Cast Natural
Nylon 6 Sheet - Cast Natural

Cast natural nylon 6 sheet is a popular engineering plastic that is strong, tough and provides good resistance to oils and chemicals. Commonly machined into impact plates, wear guides, jigs and components. Temperature range -40°C up to +100°C.

Nylon 6 Sheet - Cast Yellow Oil Filled
Nylon 6 Sheet - Cast Yellow Oil Filled

A grade of nylon 6 which is lubricated internally. When compared to standard grades, the yellow oil filled offers a greater wear resistance and a reduced coefficient of friction. It is easily machined and commonly used as components for use on highly loaded, non lubricated slow moving parts. Temperature range -40°C up to +105°C.
