Case Study: PVC Washdown Covers

PVC Washdown Cover

PVC washdown covers are commonly used to protect machines and expensive electronic equipment during washdown applications. They are manufactured from PVC coated polyester fabric as standard and we can incorporate velcro, elastic and eyelets as required for fixing. We can also supply covers with fully welded, clear PVC windows which enable the equipment to be used while covered.

The Project
A UK based chilled food manufacturer had a range of label printing control panels along their weighing and packaging lines. Operators frequently switch between handling product and using the panels, creating a build up of product over time. Covers were required to reduce this build up while also protecting the panels from water when the lines were being washed down.

The Solution
PAR visited site and began by measuring up the machines requiring covers. These covers were then drawn up and stitched in-house at our Preston branch with clear pvc windows incorporated for continuous use. The open ends at the bottom allowed for quick removal and replacement for when the covers themselves require cleaning.

The Benefits

Allowed for the continuous use of the label printing machines while the PVC covers are in-situ, allowing the area to be washed down.
