PAR Group are Celebrating Earth Day 2023

PAR Group are ISO 14001:2015 Certified

The 22nd of April 2023 marks Earth Day, we wanted to discuss some of the ways we help to protect and preserve the environment.

In 2020, WCS (World Certification Services) conducted an external audit of PAR Group and awarded them the ISO14001:2015 certification, which is an International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) for environmental management systems. This certification helps companies identify, monitor and manage environmental issues, including air pollution, water/sewage problems, waste management, soil contamination, climate change mitigation, and resource efficiency and use.

PAR Group acknowledges its responsibility to protect the environment and promote sustainability, both as a company and as individuals. The organisation has implemented environmental management systems with the assistance of its employees to improve its performance in this area. Procedures are in place to implement the three R's principle of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. To conserve energy and reduce waste, we have installed LED lighting systems equipped with PIR sensors, and staff are encouraged to turn off electronic devices and machinery that are not in use. Employees are also encouraged to communicate electronically and send/receive documents in this manner to reduce paper waste, in more recent efforts to reduce paper waste we have stopped the printing of our paper catalogue/flyers, and customers are no longer able to request a copy of these and instead, we encourage them to browse PAR-Group.co.uk as an online brochure site.

The company also reuses practical packaging materials such as wooden pallets, cardboard, plastic, and paper. Solar panels have been installed at both the Preston and Manchester sites to utilize solar energy and offset electricity usage. As a result, the sites are now entirely powered by solar energy.
Paper, cardboard, electronics, and raw materials are among the materials we recycle. A waste management firm collects and recycles the company's glass, cardboard, paper, and general plastics. Polycarbonate, Nylon, and Acetal are among the plastics that are internally separated and then sent to a specialized waste recycling processor.

We intend to continue to play a part in protecting the environment by implementing additional plans. In the current climate, the company recognises the need to seek new ways to care for and safeguard the environment.
