PTFE sheet (often incorrectly referred to as TEFLON® sheet) has excellent resistance to the majority of chemicals and solvents and is capable of operating at high and low temperatures. It also has a very low coefficient of friction and is commonly used in food contact applications. PTFE sheet provides good thermal stability and has good electrical properties, but is not suitable for wear application and is difficult to bond.

Temperature: -200°C to +260°C

Key Features: Hot water resistant and anti-adhesive. Very good sliding properties and very good UV resistance. Gamma radiation sensitive and non melting. Self extinguishing V-0.

Applications: Gaskets and seals, slide bearings, insulators, washers and rollers.

Note: Due to the nature of PTFE and the manufacturing process, sheets less than 6mm thick may not be flat in appearance. Thicker sheets are generally moulded which can help to ensure a flat appearance. 

*Tolerance on thickness for PTFE is ± 5% overall, or ± 1mm or ±2mm (whichever is the greater).

Food approval: our PTFE sheet is tested and supplied in accordance with FDA 177.155.

We can also supply modified TFM™ PTFE if required. TFM™ PTFE offers lower deformation under load, lower permeation due to denser polymer structure, better weldability, improved stress recovery, smoother surface finishes and higher transparency. Please note that TFM™ PTFE may be subject to lead times and availability.
