Polypropylene sheet is a tough, lightweight material with high impact resistance and good mechanical strength. It has low water absorption and is resistant to many acids, alkalis and organic solvents. It also has good thermal and electrical insulation properties but becomes brittle at low temperatures. Polypropylene is FDA approved and is easy to machine, form and weld, but difficult to bond.
Temperature: -20°C to +80°C
Key Features: Very low water absorption and low density. Resistant to dilute acids, cleaning agents and numerous solvents.
Applications: Chemical apparatus, water treatment components, seals, insulators, ventilation ducts, pallets, drip pans, crash doors and wall cladding. Polypropylene also offers good thermal and electrical insulation and is also resistant to many acid, alkalis and organic solvents making it an ideal choice for fabrication jobs in chemical and effluent treatment plants.
Also available: Polypropylene Rod.
Polypropylene Copolymer (PPC)
Offers slightly increased elongation at break compared with polypropylene homopolymer.
||Natural, black, white, grey, beige. Other colours available upon request.
|Sheet Size (mm):
||2440 x 1220, 3000 x 1500
||1 to 15
Note: Black polypropylene in 3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm and 9mm thick is typically stocked with an embossed pattern surface as standard.
Polypropylene Homopolymer (PPH)
Homopolymer offers a higher rigidity and chemical stability than copolymer. It is easily machined and fabricated making it suitable for machined parts and rollers.
||Natural and beige.
|Sheet Size (mm):
||2000 x 1000, 3000 x 1500, 4000 x 2000
||1 to 150
Note: If a specific colour of material is required, please state this in writing at the point of enquiry.
