PTFE Coatings

PTFE Coatings

PTFE coatings are commonly used within the food industry where baking trays, chutes and associated components can be given a non-stick, non-toxic surface. PTFE also has excellent chemical resistance properties. For specific information regarding the chemical resistance of individual coatings please contact our sales office.

Applications

Baking trays, food chutes, chemical pipe linings, centrifuges, heat sealing plates and bars.

Key Features

  • PTFE coating provides a non-stick and non-toxic surface.
  • Excellent resistance to chemicals.

Availability

Products: Custom coated to suit your requirements.
Maximum Size (mtrs): 4.0 x 2.44 x 1.82
Coatings: Teflon® PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethene) and Teflon® PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy).

Teflon® PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethene) Coating

PTFE non-stick coatings are two-coat (primer/topcoat) systems. These products have an operating temperature of 260°C and have an extremely low coefficient of friction, good abrasion resistance, and good chemical resistance.

Teflon® PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) Coating

PFA non-stick coatings melt and flow during baking to provide non-porous films. They have an operating temperature of 260°C, and are available in film thicknesses up to 1,000 micrometres (40 mils). PFA coatings have a greater toughness than PTFE and are an excellent choice for a wide variety of uses, especially those involving chemical resistance.
