Fluorosint™ 500 PTFE Rod - Mica Filled

Fluorosint™ 500 PTFE Rod - Mica Filled

Fluorosint™ 500 is a mica-filled PTFE rod material offering a distinctive blend of stability and durability. It is particularly suited for sealing applications requiring precise dimensional control. Its mica filling provides nine times greater resistance to deformation under load compared to standard unfilled PTFE, along with enhanced wear resistance.

Fluorosint™ 500 has outstanding chemical and hydrolysis resistance and excellent mechanical and tribological properties. Its linear thermal expansion coefficient mirrors that of aluminium, being only 1/4 that of virgin PTFE. This characteristic makes it a popular choice among designers dealing with fit and clearance challenges.

In addition to rod form, Fluorosint™ 500 is also available in sheet and tube options and can be machined based on customer-specific drawings.

Applications

Fluorosint™ 500 mica-filled PTFE rod is used across various industries, especially in sealing applications where chemical resistance, dimensional stability, low friction, and wear resistance are important. It is commonly used in aerospace, food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors.
