Flange Insulation Kits 

Flange insulation kits are critical for protecting flanged joints in piping systems. They consist of an insulating gasket, sleeves, and washers. The kits insulate the joints and safeguard against two significant risks: galvanic corrosion and electrical arcing.

• Galvanic corrosion occurs when two different metals (such as copper and steel) come into contact with each other in the presence of water, salt, or other electrolytes. This creates corrosion, which can weaken the piping system and lead to costly repairs and downtime.
   
• Electrical arcing occurs when a voltage difference exists between flanges, particularly in systems with conductive fluids or those prone to static electricity buildup.

Flange insulation kits help improve safety, extend service life, and reduce damage in pipework systems.

Applications

The kits are used in piping systems with flanged joints, which are commonly found in industries that transport fluids and gases. Typical industries include chemical processing, water treatment, power generation, petrochemical, food processing, and general manufacturing.

Type D Flange Insulation Kits are designed for use with ring joint type (RJT) flanges. The insulating oval ring fits into a standard RJT flange ring groove, providing electrical isolation and corrosion protection.

Each kit contains the following components:

• One Oval Ring for RJT flanges
• Two 3mm thick Phenolic Washers per bolt
• Two 3mm thick MSZP Washers per bolt
• One Mylar (Polyester) Sleeve per bolt 

Type E Flange Insulation Kits feature a full-face gasket that matches the flange's bolt holes. They are suitable for both flat-face and raised-face flanges. The design helps prevent the ingress of conductive foreign matter in the area between flanges outside the raised faces.

Each kit contains the following components:

• One 3.2mm thick Neoprene Faced Phenolic Gasket
• Two 3mm thick Phenolic Washers per bolt
• Two 3mm thick MSZP Washers per bolt
• One Mylar (Polyester) Sleeve per bolt 

Type F Flange Insulation Kits feature an IBC gasket designed to fit inside the bolt holes in the inner circle of the flange. This helps isolate the flanges to prevent corrosion and ensure reliable sealing performance.

Each kit contains the following components: 

• One 3.2mm thick Neoprene Faced Phenolic Gasket
• Two 3mm thick Phenolic Washers per bolt
• Two 3mm thick MSZP Washers per bolt
• One Mylar (Polyester) Sleeve per bolt
