As the festive period begins, we look for ways to start embracing its spirit of giving. For another year, the staff at PAR Group are kicking off their tradition of saying "Bah Humbug!" to Christmas cards in favour of making a meaningful contribution to a local charity.
Last year, we decided to split donations between two local charities, one for each branch of PAR Group. Our first is the
Manchester & Cheshire Dogs' Home, and our second charity is one for which we have previously raised funds.
Lancashire Mind “
Last year, the team's efforts raised £1,880, which the company then generously doubled, resulting in a total of £3,760. The total raised last year was split between the charities, both of which were equally grateful to the staff and company for fundraising on their behalf. We were also lucky enough to catch Lancashire Mind part-way through their
BigGive Christmas fundraising, which meant that £506 of the £ 1,880 donation was also matched, making a total of £2,386.
We are honoured to be fundraising for
St Catherine’s Hospice. The hospice aims to help patients and their families live with comfort, dignity, independence, and choice across Chorley, Preston, and South Ribble, particularly those living with life-shortening conditions. Their values of caring, compassion and commitment feel especially meaningful at this time of year.
