PVC rod (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride) is a rigid engineering plastic that provides high mechanical strength, excellent resistance to chemicals and offers low moisture absorption. It is a good electrical insulator and has a class UL94 V-0 flammability rating, meaning the polymer will self-extinguish after removal of flame. PVC rod also complies with European Directive drinking water legislation 98/83/EC and is suitable for use with wholesome water. It is highly resistant to corrosion and is easy to machine, fabricate, weld and bond.
At PAR, we have the capability to manufacture PVC rod into a wide range of finished products using in-house CNC machinery. We frequently convert polyvinyl chloride into components such as valve bodies, bearing cages, bell mounts, chemical apparatus, linings, gaskets and insulators for electrical applications. To read more about our manufacturing capabilities please visit our plastic machining section, or alternatively view our bell mounts case study, where we successfully replicated OEM parts for use in the water processing industry.
